Youth challenges may look different from one country or community to another, but many are connected by common experiences.

In this activity, you will explore the relationship between local reality and global youth challenges, then compare your perspective with that of other participants.

Step 1 β€” Choose a challenge

Choose ONE youth challenge presented in Section 1.2.

Think about how this issue appears in your country, city, community, or another context you know well.

Step 2 β€” Write your post

Write a short post of approximately 80–120 words addressing these three questions:

1. What does this challenge look like in your context?
Give one concrete example, observation, or experience.

2. Do you think young people elsewhere experience the same challenge?
Explain where you see similarities.

3. What might be different in another country or community?
Consider social, economic, cultural, political, or technological differences.

πŸ’¬ Step 3 β€” Connect with Two Peers

After publishing your post, read contributions from other participants.

Reply to at least TWO posts, preferably from participants describing contexts different from your own.

In each reply, identify:

🀝 ONE SIMILARITY
What experience, concern, or challenge do your contexts share?

🌍 ONE DIFFERENCE
What appears different, and what might explain that difference?

EXAMPLE:
Similarity: Young people in my community also struggle to find work that matches their qualifications.
Difference: In your example, access to jobs seems strongly connected to geographical location, while in my context the bigger issue is limited entry-level experience. This may affect young people differently even though the overall challenge is similar.

πŸ’‘ REMEMBER

A challenge can be global without being experienced in exactly the same way everywhere.

The purpose of this discussion is not to decide which context has the β€œbigger” problem, but to understand how shared challenges take different forms in different realities.
