Developing a successful project is an important achievement, but lasting change often requires more than one initiative. Many of the challenges young people face, such as climate change, digital inclusion, mental health, or youth participation, also require changes in policies, funding priorities, or public awareness.
Advocacy is the process of encouraging decision-makers, institutions, communities and individuals to support positive change. It allows project results and young people's experiences to contribute to broader discussions and future policies.
Not every project needs to change national legislation. Sometimes advocacy simply means sharing evidence, making a publication, raising awareness, or encouraging local authorities to adopt successful ideas.
As a young changemaker, your project can become a starting point for wider conversations that influence your school, municipality, youth organisation, or even European institutions.
