Kill Your Favourite Idea
Name the element you are most attached to → declare it unavailable → generate ten alternatives (push past the sulky first three) → compare the best two against the original, scored on purpose rather than affection → keep, switch, or keep-and-change.
Most people keep the original — but it is now a chosen idea rather than an inherited one.
