Task Overview

It’s time to move from theory to action! In this exercise, you will evaluate the vulnerabilities of your own youth initiative. You will identify potential failures, mathematically calculate their priority using the Risk Score formula, and draft actionable contingency plans.

The Governing Rule

Before you fill out the template, remember our operational math:

Risk Score = Probability X Impact

  • Probability: 1 (Highly Unlikely) to 5 (Almost Certain)

  • Impact: 1 (Minor Inconvenience) to 5 (Project Catastrophe)

🚦 Action Threshold: Any threat that scores 15 or higher is a Red Zone risk. You are mandated to write a comprehensive backup plan for it before launching!

Study this Example (To see how it's done):

Risk 1: Traditional/Operational Problem

  • What could go wrong? (Threat): On the day of our outdoor youth training, it starts pouring rain, completely soaking our open-air park venue.

  • Probability (1-5): 4 (It is late autumn and the weather forecast is highly unstable).

  • Impact (1-5): 5 (Participants will get wet, our technical equipment will short-circuit, and the lecture cannot happen).

  • Total Risk Score (4 x 5): 20 (This is a massive Red Zone risk!)

  • 🛡️ Plan B (Contingency Plan): If the weather app shows a 60% chance of rain 48 hours before the event, we will immediately move the training to the indoor hall of the local youth center, which we have already pre-booked as a backup.

Risk 2: Digital / NFT Problem

  • What could go wrong? (Threat): We want to distribute digital certificates to our volunteers, but half of the participants find the blockchain platform too confusing, get frustrated, and give up.

  • Probability (1-5): 5 (Our target audience has zero experience with Web3 or digital wallets).

  • Impact (1-5): 3 (The project won't fail entirely, but our community engagement and satisfaction will drop).

  • Total Risk Score (5 x 3): 15 (Still hits the high-risk threshold!)

  • 🛡️ Plan B (Contingency Plan): We will record a simple 2-minute mobile screen tutorial showing exactly where to click to set up a digital profile. We will also host a voluntary 30-minute "Tech Help" Zoom call the evening before the project launch to unblock anyone facing errors.

Grading method: Highest grade
