Activity 14 — Three Scenarios and Your Creative Plan

Time: about 90 minutes. Submit: a one to two page document.

This is the closing piece of the course. Write it for yourself, not for the trainer.

Part A — Three scenarios. Write three short futures for your work, study or creative practice three years from now: continuation, disruption, acceleration. For each, answer what you would need, what you would regret not having started, and what stays valuable regardless. Highlight anything appearing in all three.

Part B — Your creative plan. One page, eight short sections:

  1. Direction — what you are working toward over three years, at purpose level rather than job title.
  2. Principles — your three fixed commitments, in your words.
  3. Current focus — what you are working on now, and the update condition that would make you change.
  4. Learning queue — three things to learn this year, with the first one dated.
  5. Support — four named people: someone ahead of you, a peer, someone you help, and someone who tells you the truth.
  6. Practice — your minimum viable creative practice, with days, times, place and floor.
  7. No-regret moves — whatever appeared in all three scenarios. Start these this month.
  8. Review date — six months from now, in your calendar before you submit.

Part C — Readiness. Look at the readiness self-check in the closing section. Which items can you already answer, and which one would you most want to strengthen before joining a team?

The measure of whether this was worth doing is whether you open it again in six months.
