Welcome back! Now that you have broken down your project into specific tasks and assigned clear owners to them, it's time to talk about time and materials.

First, let’s talk about timelines. In youth projects, delays happen easily if you don’t set specific deadlines. A professional coordinator uses Milestones—which are major checkpoints in your project. For example, 'Registration Form Closed' or 'Venue Secured' are milestones. Instead of just having one final deadline, give every small task its own specific start and end date. Always leave a buffer of 2 to 3 days for unexpected delays!

Second, before you even think about money or a budget, you must map out your Material Resources. Look at your WBS tasks and ask yourself: What physical items do we need to make this task happen? If you are hosting a workshop, you don’t just need a trainer; you need a projector, flipcharts, markers, printed hand-outs, and maybe name tags.

By mapping out your calendar and your material needs early, building your actual budget in the next module will be incredibly easy. Let’s look at the summary below to see how to add these timelines straight into your Project Canvas!
