After identifying who needs to understand your solution first, this lesson activity will help you think about how to communicate your idea in a clear and strategic way.

A good solution can lose its impact if people do not understand what it is, why it matters, or how it responds to a real problem. This is why communication is an important part of problem-solving. It helps others see the value of your idea, connect with the issue, and understand how they can support or participate.

As you move through this activity, think about the solution idea you selected in the previous lesson. Try to focus on the main message: What is the problem? What is your solution? Who does it help? Why is it meaningful?

This activity will prepare you for the next task, where you will create a simple target group and message map for your solution.

Why Communication Matters

Having a good solution idea is important, but it is not enough. Other people need to understand the idea before they can support it, join it, fund it, promote it, or benefit from it. Good communication helps make your solution clear. It explains what problem you are addressing, who is affected, what your solution proposes, and what change it wants to create. If communication is unclear, people may misunderstand your idea or lose interest. They may not see why the problem matters or how your solution connects to real needs. Before presenting a solution, it is useful to ask: What do people need to understand first? Why should they care? What is the most important message? What action or support do we want from them?
