Social problems do not affect everyone in the same way. Some people and groups may experience greater barriers, exclusion, or harm, while others may have more access to resources, influence, opportunities, or decision-making power.
This activity will help you examine the local social problem you have explored throughout the course from the perspective of power, privilege, inequality, and inclusion. By identifying who is affected, who holds influence, and who may benefit from the current situation, you will develop a deeper understanding of why inequalities continue.
You will then consider what practical changes could distribute opportunities, resources, and influence more fairly. The aim is to move beyond the visible effects of the problem and examine the relationships and structures that shape people’s experiences.
