Changing the Game (Innovation)

3. 👯 Digital Twins

What is it?

A digital twin is a dynamic, highly accurate virtual replica of a physical space, object, or machine. Instead of risking expensive mistakes in the real world, you test your ideas in the simulation.

How it changes the game:

You can fast-forward time to see how physical objects will age, break, or perform under pressure without spending a single dollar on real-world testing.

Real-World Example:

Imagine an architectural team tasked with preserving a historic stone arch bridge, like the iconic Stari Most or the Stone Bridge in Skopje. Instead of guessing where the structural weaknesses are, they create a perfect 3D Digital Twin of the bridge. They can then run digital simulations to see exactly how the structure handles extreme weather, centuries of wear-and-tear, or heavy tourist foot traffic, allowing them to plan precise, safe physical repairs.Â
